About Us
SRD SASSA explains the SASSA SRD R370 grant in plain English. Most people who land here have a status they do not understand, a payment that has not arrived, or a decline they want to appeal. Our job is to tell you what the words mean and what to do next.
Who We Are
We are an independent South African website. We are not affiliated with the South African Social Security Agency, the Department of Social Development, or any other government department. We do not receive applications, we do not assess them, and we cannot change anyone's result. SASSA decides every application.
We are not a paid agent either. Applying for the SRD grant is free on the official service, and nobody can make your application go faster for a fee.
Why This Site Exists
SASSA publishes the rules, but it publishes them the way a government department writes. Meanwhile a lot of what people find online is guesswork, and some of it is written to sell something. Wrong information costs applicants real money and real time. A person who believes a made-up waiting period stops checking. A person who believes a fake WhatsApp number sends their ID to a scammer.
How We Write Our Guides
Every guide on this site follows the same rules:
- We use official sources. Rules, amounts and processes come from SASSA and other government sources, not from other blogs.
- We say when something is not published. If SASSA does not state a fixed waiting period or a guaranteed turnaround, we tell you that instead of inventing a number.
- We separate the result from the reason. A status is one thing. Why you got it is another. Mixing the two is how most bad advice starts.
- We date our pages. Each guide shows when we last checked it against official sources.
What We Cannot Do
We cannot approve you, pay you, change your status, unlock an application, or speed anything up. We cannot see your file. If a page on this site says one thing and the official SRD service says another, follow the official service.
Tell Us If We Are Wrong
