What This Site Is
SRD SASSA is an independent information website about the SASSA SRD R370 grant. It is not affiliated with the South African Social Security Agency, the Department of Social Development, or any other government department. We do not receive, assess or decide grant applications, and we cannot change a result.
Information Only, Not Advice
Everything on this site is general information. It is not legal advice, financial advice or an official ruling. Your own circumstances may change the answer. Where a page and the official SRD service disagree, the official service is correct.
Using the Status Tool
The status tool passes the ID number and phone number you enter to the official SASSA SRD service and displays the answer it returns. You agree that:
- You will only check an application that belongs to you or that you may lawfully check.
- You will not use the tool to check other people's ID numbers at scale.
- You will not use automated tools, scripts or bots against this site.
We may block access if the site is being abused. The tool depends on the official service. If that service is down, slow or changes, the tool can fail, and we cannot promise it will always be available.
Accuracy
We check our guides against official sources and show the date we last did so. Even so, SASSA changes rules, amounts, deadlines and screens, sometimes without notice. We do not promise that every page is complete or current at the moment you read it.
Links to Other Sites
We link to SASSA and other outside websites so you can act on official information. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content, their availability or how they handle your information.
Limits of Our Responsibility
You use this site at your own risk. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss that follows from using it, from relying on something written here, or from the site being unavailable. That includes a missed payment, a missed deadline or a refused application.
Our Content
The text and layout on this site belong to us. You may quote a short passage if you credit SRD SASSA and link to the page. You may not copy whole guides or republish the site.
Scams and Fees
We never charge for a status check and we never ask for a bank PIN, an online banking password or a one-time PIN. Anyone who asks you to pay for an SRD application or promises a faster result is not us and is not SASSA. Read our guide to SASSA scams.
