SASSA Disability Grant Application Procedure | Step-By-Step Guide

1- Prepare the Documentation

Prepare all the documents you need for the grant application. You cannot apply for this grant without a medical report that proves your disability. So here are the papers you will need for the application process.

• Your ID: You need to have a South African ID, whether it is your Green Book ID or your Passport.

• Your age should be between 18 and 59 years.
• The nature of your disability should be more than 6 months.
• You should not be earning more than R86,280 per year if you are not married.
• If you are married, then your and your spouse’s income should not exceed R172 560 per annum.
• You are not allowed to be a beneficiary of other government-operated grants.
• You should have a South African ID and must reside in the country.

3- Fill out the Grant Application Form

Once you have gone through all the steps, your final step is to visit the SASSA office.

1. Get inside the SASSA office.
2. Ask for the SASSA Disability grant application form.
3. Fill out the form with a blue ink pen.
4. Ask for help if needed.
5. Attach the documents and medical report.
