SASSA Grant-in-aid

The SASSA Grant-in-Aid is an additional financial support program for individuals already receiving the Disability Grant, Older Person’s Grant, or War Veterans Grant.

This is for individuals who need full-time care because of a medical or physical condition. This grant allows the person to pay for a personal assistant or caregiver to give daily support that is needed.

To be eligible, applicants need to show they require full-time help and must pass an assessment by a medical officer. The Grant-in-Aid is designed to ensure that those it serves receive the right kind of care and retain their dignity and good health.

Individually eligible, potential beneficiaries can apply at their most convenient SASSA office. In actual fact, this grant goes a long way toward addressing the living conditions of our citizens who require constant care. It is a step in the right direction toward restoring the dignity of our people.
